We are pleased to inform you that the installation of the EV charging stations will begin on Monday, October 27th. This marks the first phase of the project, which is expected to take approximately one week to complete.
Following this phase, an electrical shutdown of the Water Mill building will be scheduled with Eversource to connect the new charging stations to the existing Water Mill electrical transformer. Please see the project diagram below for your reference.
Below is the current construction schedule:
- Monday, October 27th & Tuesday, October 28th: Inovis Energy will be working in the first seven visitor parking spaces. These spaces will be unavailable for use throughout the entire week. All visitor’s vehicles must be removed by 7am on Monday, October 27th!
- Wednesday, October 29th & Thursday, October 30th: Trenching work will take place between the visitor parking spaces and the Water Mill building. Contractors will complete the work in sections to maintain traffic flow through the area. We kindly ask all drivers to proceed with extreme caution and drive slowly while work is underway.
- Friday, October 31st: Contractors will complete site cleanup and any remaining punch list items.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation! We are available should you have any questions or concerns. Status updates will be added to this post!
January 1st 2026 Update:
The second phase of the EV charging station project is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14th. This work will require the power to the Water Mill building to be turned off for approximately 4-6 hours. The sidewalk will also be closed in front of the Water Mill electrical transformer. The work is weather dependent as we cannot shut off the power to the building if the outside temperature is too cold. We will share more information about the logistics of this phase of the project as soon as we have more information.
January 12th 2026 Update:
The second phase of the EV charging station project will begin at 8:00am on Wednesday, January 14th. Several contractor vehicles will be onsite throughout the day to complete this work. Kindly see below details about this phase of the project and Water Mill electrical shut down:
- The sidewalk in front of the Water Mill electrical transformer will be closed as this area will be trenched to run the conduit for the charging stations.
- The electrical transformer serving the Water Mill building will be turned off by Eversource, beginning at 8:00am at the earliest.
- Traffic through the one-way driveway will be very limited. We ask that you avoid driving this way if possible.
- Water Mill Residents: You will need to reset your heat pumps once the power is restored. If you will not be home and would like Management to reset your heat pump, please let us know and we will be happy to assist.
- We ask that you please use the Water Mill stairwell closest to the patio during the electrical shut down as this stairwell will be the brightest.
- If the weather permits, the Water Mill garage door will be monitored and locked in the open position. If for any reason we are unable to keep the garage door open and you will need to enter or exit, please call the Management office and we will manually open the garage door for you.
- The Park Mill function room and kitchen will be open for Water Mill residents to use during the shut down if needed.
January 13th 2026 Update:
Please be advised that Phase 2 of the EV charging station project, which was scheduled for tomorrow (January 14th), has been postponed by Eversource. As a result, the planned electrical shutdown to the Water Mill building will not take place.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will let you know as soon as the work has been rescheduled.
